The Top 3 Reasons why I keep Switching Themes
You may have noticed that I keep switching the theme on Adventuresindebt.com, mostly because I keep discovering little quirks that I don’t like on the themes I have. The top three reasons are:
- the tags weren’t showing up in the posts in the brightside theme.
- the custom.css stylesheet isn’t working properly for me in the Cutline 1.1 theme, so I can’t get the right colour combinations going.
- I don’t like the font combinations on the sites.
So, in honour of my New Year’s post, I’m going to make one final change, and try not to change anything (except maybe add some stuff to the sidebars or equivalent) until the end of the year. So stay tuned for the change later on today.
Edit (17:25 same day): Okay, I have finished making my changes. AinD.com is now the way it should look from now on. Comments? Whaddya think? And any takers on if I can actually keep the theme the same till the end of the year? Anyone?

The Debt Meter is Back!
It’s true. The Adventure in Debt.com Debt Meter is finally back. It’s the last thing I wanted to add to the site during this latest redesign. It counts down how much of my debt I’ve paid off. I’ll be updating it each month, so you’ll be able to see my progress.

Happy New Year here at AinD.com
No, I haven’t gone bonkers under the weight of my debt. On the advice of the SlackerManager, I’ve decided to celebrate the new year a little early. With today being Labour Day, and the start of the school year upon us, I thought it was a good time to celebrate the last year here at AinD.com. Without further ado, here’s what was going on a year ago:
- I talked about how to get a good balance transfer rate on your credit card in the post Credit Cards & Interest Rates.
- Emergency funds were obviously on my mind already in the post Saving for Emergencies.
- I simplified my life by setting up pre-authorized payments for my bills on Pre-authorized payments.
In honour of the new year, I’m going to start a few things here at AinD.com:
- I’ve already told you about my goal of paying off $5000 by the end of 2007.
- I’m going to keep track of my goals using Joe’s Goals. Look for the chart in the sidebar soon.
- I’m going to get off my duff and start exercising again. Let’s see how long that lasts.
- I’m going to whip up a few weekly features here on the site, so stay tuned for those too!
Okay, that’s enough for the goal setting, I wouldn’t want to fail miserably because my list was 20 items long!
I’ll keep you all updated on how things are going. Wish me luck!

Redesign is in the works
You’ve probably noticed the change in website themes here at Adventures in Debt, so I thank you for your patience. I’ll actually be changing the theme again this weekend, as I’m not happy with the current one, and the yellow one was giving me technical problems. It wasn’t showing all the pages on my site, nor was the sidebar working for me. The new one will be all spiffy and new, so stay tuned for that!
