A Great New Tool to Track
In an effort to keep track of my expenses, I was using expensr.com. I liked it because it was simple, and showed me these nice pie graphs. Plus I could add as many custom categories as I wanted. But they were puchased a few months ago by moneyStrands, so my account was transferred over to them.
Except that I don’t like moneyStrands. I found the interface confusing to use, and the whole thing was unwieldy. After using it for three days, I closed my account.
Now I was stuck. I didn’t want to have to create my own spreadsheet because I’m lazy, and I haven’t found any pre-made ones out there that I liked.
TextHog to the rescue!
The big selling point of TextHog is that you can email or tweet your expenses to the site and it records everything for you. This is great because if I’m out and about and bought an ice cream from an ice cream truck, I can record the purchase. And it makes those pie charts I like too. The one thing I’d like is customizable categories, but they hit all the major ones, and let you tag each transactions as you like, so it’s definitely workable.
Have any of you used TextHog yet? I’ve been at it for a week, and absolutely love it. TextHog’s still in beta, so I’m hoping that they’ll continue to roll out the features each week and/or month.
So let’s hear it readers, have you tried TextHog yet? What do you think?
Do YOU Want to Be in my Blogroll?
This past weekend I spent some time going through my RSS Reader, and took a cruise through other people’s blog rolls. I added a few more blogs to my list of ones to read, so I thought I’d throw open the invitation to my own blog roll. I didn’t immediately add all the ones I’m reading to my blogroll, but I’ll slowly be adding to it. If you’d like to be added, just drop me a comment and I’ll take a look!
Come Join the Carnival
My post about finishing off payments to one of my credit cards was accepted at the Carnival of Personal Finance #184. Go check the list and read up on what the rest of the bloggers are talking about!
Life has kept me busy
So I haven’t been posting as often as I would have liked lately. Hopefully you haven’t been worried.
Between work and life, there just hasn’t been much time to keep y’all up to date. I’ll try to post a little more frequently in the next while, as I do realize that I’ve been neglecting you.
Upcoming are the April Numbers, as well as some general financial shenanigans that have been going on around here chez AinD.com. Stay tuned!
