Change Challenge

Change Isn’t Challenging Right Now

This week has been a bit of a banner week for me in the Change Challenge. I found a penny the other day — not surprising. M texted me when I told her about my find and raised me the dime she’d found the same day. Blast! H-o-w-e-v-e-r, today I took a big leap forward.

On my way home from work, I was walking out of the subway station when I found a nickel on the ground. Boo-yah.

Two steps later…a penny.

I turned the corner and walked up the stairs, and cha-ching! A quarter!

In total that makes 16 cents in about 15 steps. Very nice.

Edit: Apparently I was so excited about finding all that money that I actually added up the total wrong! 1 + 5 + 25 = 31 cents, not 16. Sheesh. I’ve updated my total over in the side as well.

Found a quarter!

I actually found a quarter on the ground this week, which I know doesn’t sound like much, but since I tend to find pennies at a time whilst M finds dimes and nickels, I was quite pleased. I’m catching up to her!

The Challenge Continues

The Change Challenge continues unabated chez moi, with M, as usual, finding big coins every time, while I find pennies. She actually hit the Canadian change trifecta (or quad-fecta, if that exists), as she found a quarter, dime, nickel, AND penny in one day! That was fun. Thankfully she didn’t find a loonie or a toonie, otherwise I would have been dropped back significantly in the challenge.

I found 4 pennies on Friday night, which was pretty good for me. Three pennies at once too. It was kind of hard to see them too, as it was 11pm on a relatively cloudy night, so I was surprised I managed to see them. But I did, so I added them to the totals. I’m still lagging behind M, but that’s okay, it’s fun to see how much we can find.

Finding Change

Right on, these last few weeks have been good to me in the Change Challenge. Found three pennies last week, and 6  cents today! (A nickel and a penny) Hmm, although I think I forgot to add in a penny in my total. Let me adjust that.
