Are You Proud of Your Emergency Fund

This week Budget’s Are Sexy was talking about emergency funds and how some people talk about “only” have a certain amount in them. I love how people use that word, “only” when talking about their finances.

It “only” costs $100! It’s gotta be a good deal.

If I can “only” get ahead of my bills this month, life will be good.

If I can “only” manage to save up $1,000 in my emergency fund.

Well, hear this: I have over $1,000 in my Emergency Fund!

My initial goal was $1,000, but as soon as I hit that number, I increased it to $3,500. I used to have about that amount in my account earlier this year (when I used it after quitting the job from hell), so I figure it was a good amount to shoot for again. I’m looking forward to the prospect of slowly building it up, and now that I found those nice little progress bars, it’s more fun to do! *grin*

Onward people, onward towards $3,500! FTW! hahaha
