Today I did my bi-annual credit check, to see where I stack up credit-wise, and I must say that I’m pleased. My FICO score actually went up a few points, which is good. Upward progress is good. I had to laugh at all the “the amount of balance on your revolving credit accounts is too high” comments though, because it’s funny that they actually have to tell me that. I suppose it might come as a shock to you if you don’t know anything about your personal financial situation, but since I know how much I do owe, I think it’s funny.
Checking your credit score is an important thing to do, so that you can see where you’re at, and also to make sure that everything is correct in your file. Case in point, I discovered that they’re showing the wrong “current employer” information for me. I’ll be filling in a form to have them correct that, but it’s good to see where they think I work, because that could affect things.
Have you checked your credit score lately? How are you doing?
