How Can Snow Be Frugal?
Snow. Skiing. Snowboarding. Lift tickets. Gas. Food. Apres ski fun.
Those are some of the things that come along with a good snow storm for those who enjoy snow sports. It can be a fun experience to go out and enjoy the fruits of the storm, however each of those things can start to add up.
In my case, because I would only enjoy the apres ski fun, so I don’t bother even going out. Although with the snow storm Toronto got yesterday, there wasn’t much choice of whether I would go out or not. We got about 25cms of snow in total (that’s almost 10 inches) in a 24 hour period. We normally get about 20cms for the entire month of March. So this is definitely a lot of snow.
One of the good things is that when it’s snowing that much, I don’t go out. No grocery shopping, no movies, no going out with friends for drinks or dinner. I just hunker down and enjoy all the DVDs I’ve got lying around. So that’s exactly what I did yesterday. I pulled out the blanket, popcorn and beer that I had already in the house, popped in a DVD, and enjoyed my day.
How do you enjoy snow days?

I love to bake when we have a snowstorm- muffins, bread, cookies, etc. It’s also a great time for a good soup. My kids are out sledding and I actually get a moment to relax.
